One of the highlights of springtime in Boston is The Muse and the Marketplace, a three-day writing/publishing conference sponsored by Grub Street. This year The Muse will take place on May 1-3. And this year I will be presenting a workshop on using personal experience in our writing. To read about my workshop and see all of the other wonderful workshops and speakers, check out the Muse website.
I'm happy to announce that I will again teach at Grub Street this winter. Starting in early February, I will teach an introductory course on writing for middle grade and young adults. If you are an adult and interested in this fiction genre, check it out. It's a perfect class for beginners and intermediates! If you have any questions, please contact me off line. Website.
I am thrilled to announce that I will be teaching again at Grub Street, this time at the remote branch at Wellesley Books, Wellesley. The class will begin in mid September and run for six weeks. It is advertised as a beginning and intermediate class although all levels of writing are welcome. We'll do plenty of writing, critiquing, reading and talking. Hope to see you there. Website
There's still time (and a few slots left) at the Cape Cod Writers Center Conference next week in Hyannis, MA. I will be teaching two workshops: a three-day writing novels for kids class and a one-day class on tips for finishing a draft. Hope to see you there! Website
